Jacklyn Koch originally from Martinsburg, WV grew up spending her summers in Panama. From a young age she became enchanted with salsa and modern dance, leading her to follow her dreams to Philadelphia. She attended University of the Arts and graduated with a BFA in Modern Dance Performance. She has danced in works choreographed by Merce Cunningham, Martha Graham, Curt Haworth, Brian Sanders, Silvana Cardell, and Manfred Fischbeck. Jacklyn's choreography has been shown at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival 2007-2010, Rocky Awards, Drake Theater, Painted Bride, La Casona Panama, and Philadelphia School of Circus Arts. During the 2009 Philadelphia Fringe Festival she directed Pink Hair Affair's magical show POOF! at The Fidget Space. Jacklyn has trained in circus aerial skills at Airplay Studio and Philadelphia School of Circus Arts studying trapeze, lyra, rope, acrobatics, and fabric. While living in Panama for nine months she had the opportunity to study with Bastardproduktion, Nana+na Colectivo de Danza, La Tribu Performance, and Estudio Nuboso. She also choreographed and danced in the 2010 Arte Feminion II "Mujer y Cultura," a female art exposition to support Instituto Oncologico Nacional. She made her debut with Anne -Marie Mulgrew and Dancers Company at the 2010 Dumbo Festival, performing at White Wave's John Ryan Theater in Brooklyn, NY. Look for her in AMMDC 25th Anniversary production in the 2011 Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts. Jacklyn is a certified adult and children's yoga instructor who teaches at numerous schools and studios in Philadelphia. Jacklyn is also a dog lover, ketchup enthusiast, and fluent in Spanglish.
