Choreographer | Artistic Director | Dancer
Laura was one of the original co-founders of PINK HAIR AFFAIR in 2007. She has since directed, choreographed, and performed for several PHA shows from 2007 to 2013. She created PHA's Burlesque-inspired series "Take It Off..." that ran for three consecutive years. From 2007 to 2011 Laura was an NFL Cheerleader for the Philadelphia Eagles finishing her final season as Captain. She even had the honor of being one of five selected to perform overseas in Kuwait and Iraq on a Goodwill Military Tour. Laura has done several projects and work with Philadelphia's local favorite Brian Sanders' JUNK (including their Fringe Festival Series, and a special project with MAC Cosmetics in Dubai). You can also see her choreography in a project entitled "Human Cannonball" by The David Mayfield Parade filmed by Born Lucky Studios, that won Best Music Video at the New York City Independent Film Festival (NYCIFF). Upon moving to Los Angeles in 2015, she was able to perform for Robin Conrad in the Homegrown Festival and has done various freelance dance projects, even showcasing a world premier of her own entitled "hypnogogia" at a local choreographers showcase. Laura is also a Massage Therapist working with the NFL, PA Ballet, and other Philebrities, amongst the weekend warriors and those looking for rehab and maintenance work. In LA, she received her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training and implements therapeutic yoga in her practice as well as working on developing a "Movement + Breath Meditation" workshop/technique that she premiered at a yoga retreat she led in Mexico last Summer. She has taught workshops in LA focusing varying from therapeutic touch to movement based practices. Laura is stoked to be bringing PINK HAIR AFFAIR back into the art scene here in Philadelphia, and to continue creating, teaching, learning, and living.
Kelly grew up in Media, PA and began her dance training at The Rock School West in West Chester, PA. She then furthered her education at Point Park University and graduated with her BA in dance in 2013. During her time at Point Park, Kelly had the opportunity to perform original works by Sidra Bell, Christopher Huggins, Garfield Lemonius, Ron Tassone, and Kellie Hodges to name a few, as well as explore her own choreographic ideas. Upon graduating, Kelly joined Dissonance Dance Theatre and Deviated Theatre in Washington, DC. In 2014 she joined Brian Sanders' JUNK, in Philadelphia, PA. JUNK has allowed her opportunities to tour nationally and perform in annual Philadelphia Fringe Festivals. In 2015 she competed with JUNK on TruTV's Fake Off season two, where they landed a spot in the semifinals. She currently performs with JUNK and Nickerson-Rossi Dance under direction of Michael Nickerson-Rossi in Chester County, PA. Kelly is dancing her way through the summer performing a ton this Philly Fringe! Excited to perform with PINK HAIR AFFAIR's Laura Jenkins and with JUNK's collaboration with Meg Saligman Studio in FIGMAGO Alive, and in Teddy Fatschers' Matter Movement Group UNHINGED.
